"Mindfulness: Learning to Live in the Moment"


Anastasia Gensler, a certified mindfulness instructor and health and wellness practitioner, will introduce our audience to the basic principles of mindful awareness practice and its scientific underpinnings.  She will tell us about the positive, life-changing outcomes she has witnessed in herself and others who have learned to put the brakes on in our fast-paced world. She will discuss how mindful awareness practice helps us build the capacity to pay attention to our experience without resisting the moment as it is, ruminating over the past, or being anxious and fearful about the future.

 

About Anastasia Gensler:

Anastasia holds a Masters Degree in Teaching and brings 29 years of experience to the classroom in the Chicagoland area. Her deep passion for practicing mindfulness is rooted in the positive life-changing outcomes she has witnessed in herself and in her students. She deeply believes that mindfulness training is a powerful tool that can transform the educational system by restoring health and wellness to students, teachers and families.

In addition to her work in the classroom Anastasia has experience in presenting Mindfulness workshops for local communities in a variety of settings.

 

Our Adult Programs:
A typical Sunday meeting begins at 10:30, ends at noon and consists of a speaker or presentation focusing on current issues, ethical philosophy, lifespan education, or the arts. Platforms are open to the public and admission is free, although we request a donation of $5.
 
Our Program for Children:
The Golden Rule Sunday School, for children from birth through 8th grade, also meets every Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to noon, September through May. For more info, contact the Sunday School director at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
