Ian Maksin, Cellist
Having shared the stage with such artists as Andrea Bocelli and Sting, equally fluent in many genres from classical to jazz and world music, Russian-born cellist and composer Ian Maksin has created his own organic and soulful sound blend and developed a unique augmented way of using the cello as a solo instrument.
Catch Ian Maksin for an intimate performance during his short stopover in hometown Chicago between his Coast-to-Coast USA tour and the upcoming tours of Lithuania and Russia, from Moscow to Eastern Siberia! In this concert Maksin will be playing everything from unaccompanied cello suites by J.S. Bach to his own original compositions which combine elements of jazz, classical and world music, as well as his unique arrangements of hits by John Lennon, Eric Clapton, B.B. King and more.
Hosted by Vicki Elberfeld $8-$12 suggested donation includes refreshments. No reservations needed.
Doors open at 7:30. Free parking in our lot, on Howard, or on Jerome St.
